the difference...

,
whats the difference between christianity and hinduism in sri-lanka?

imagine a beggar, sitting infront of the temple waiting for handouts from the hindu worshippers, they give a little and walk away. the hindu preists do the same, temple also gives them a meal. the people and priests thinking its god's judgement for them to be like that.

imagine a beggar sittin infront of a church? can you? have you ever seen one? most likely the priest has taken the beggar in, given him a job of some sort and stopped him from begging.

i agree but i think that's because there are more hindus in SL than christians, therefore, its impossible for hindu priests to give jobs to all beggars in front of their temples.

i remember back in SL.........at my church.....there used to be a guy, he's a lil crzy....coz after his mom and dad died in a plan crash....he was on d streets.....our priest bought him in n arranged a place in side d church for him to stay.....d guy was crzy buh he was sum kinda student....dun remember...u always see him out side d church reading sumthin....huge science books.....the guy's bro n sis were in aussie...n they didnt want a crzy bro...so never helped him out....then the guy got worst....he started walkin round a streets naked...shoutin loud when d church mass was on....he turnd worst...n after years he died...buh wah i dun get is...d priest gav him a place to stay n food to eat...but why not cure him??? he was realy intrelligent n speaks fluent english!! das one of d main reasons i lost faith in God........

You cannot blame d hindu temple or d church.....its d priest inside who shud b blamed man........

thats true too, depends on whether the priest is a good person

but i think a hindu priest will be more wary of what his community will say than a father, a father will be blessed by the community,

I so agree with you loosu! It's so true.. I remeber watching this Tamil movie where they showed beggars begging outside, and people in the temple using milk, fruits etc for an abishekam.. where the idols are washed with the milk...

I think some serious reform is needed within Hinduism.. but guess what there would always some dumb ppl playing the caste cards..

Could it be that in Christanity, everyone's welcome inside the house of god. But in Hinduism, if you are unclean, you cannot come inside. Beggars and women on their period are considered unclean. Hence why they are not taken inside and given a job.

Plus, Hinduism also teaches that if you do not do good, you will suffer in your next life. So these beggers are infact people who have been cruel and inhuman in their previous life. This is their punishment. A hindu priest feels he cannot change god's verdict.
